300 VICTORIANS

Numbering the 300 for identification

The 300 persons are numbered from 1 to 300 starting at the top left-hand corner
and zigzagging to number 300 at the bottom right-hand corner. Numbers 1 to 9 are
in light blue, 10 to 19 are in red. 20 to 29 are in yellow, etc. To save space only
the first member of a colour family is written in full, e.g. 10 is in red but 11 is
shortened as a red 1, 12 a red 2, etc. 140 is in purple, but 141 is abbreviated as a
purple 1, 142 as a purple 2, and so on.
